In addition to food, water, a litter box and litter, your cat should have a cover for their box. Cat litter covers give your feline a place to use the bathroom in privacy. You can go for a style that comes complete with a cover already attached. These boxes are usually made from heavy duty plastic and the lids snap on and off for cleaning. Not only does vigilant scooping prevent odors, it is better for your cat. Cats are fastidious animals and some of them will refuse to go in a dirty litter box. Instead, they will go on the floor, in your bathtub or in your potted plants! For these reasons and others it is important to keep the litter box clean and sanitary whether it has a cover or not.
